The tiny trendsetter left a hair salon in Hollywood on July 2 sporting a new BLUE ‘do. But is it safe for him to get his hair dyed? It seems a bit over the top to us!
Not only did 5-year-old Kingston get his hair colored, but his little brother Zuma, 2, also added some blue streaks to his blonde locks! But what do you think of this blue brigade? Appropriate or not?
Courteney Cox‘s daughter Coco, 6, recently streaked her hair with purple and blue chunks too, so it must be all the rage.
“Like pregnant women, it’s difficult to find a group of people willing to volunteer to study the potential adverse health effects of certain chemicals on them,” Pediatrician and author Dr. Ari Brown tells HollyBaby.com about the potential effects color treatments might have on kids. “I tend to view childhood environmental safety concerns with the precautionary principle. The risk is unknown and the benefit, is well, questionable to say the least! So why risk it? Get a feather instead!”
“Because the chemicals in the highlights are not touching the scalp, they are likely to be a safer choice than those that do touch the scalp directly and have the potential to be absorbed through the skin.”
So what do you think, HollyMoms? Is Kingston’s new hair style OK or unnecessary for a 5-year-old?
