Happy Birthday, Michelle Branch! You're 28 Today, July 2!

Award-winning musician and mother Michelle Branch turns 28 today!

In 2009 singer/songwriter Michelle Branch told CBS her music was “a family affair.” Hubby Teddy Landau played bass in her former duo-band The Wreckers and daughter Owen Isabelle, 5, always comes along for the ride.

We know her best for her albums The Spirit Room and Hotel Paper, but Michelle has done way more. In 2005, she teamed up with Jessica Harp to form the country/rock duo The Wreckers and has also sang with Carlos Santana!

Michelle is no stranger to the Grammy Awards either, as she was nominated for Best New Artist in 2003. The Wreckers’ album Leave the Pieces also received a Grammy nomination.

Her newest single “Loud Music” was first released in June and we will see her next studio album West Coast Time on shelves in September.

“I don’t take things too seriously anymore,” she explained in her CBS interview about how motherhood changed her life. “I used to really, really sweat the small stuff. I used to let things get under my skin and bother me for days on end. And now, I’ve just totally mellowed out.”
