Dia Frampton appeared at an NBC’s The Voice Finale Viewing Party June 29 with her bob-length hair curled slightly under. The short look is a little bit 1940’s and definitely glam. Keep reading to get the look. Hint: You probably already have the styling tools at home!
To get perfect ringlets that curl under, not around, I’ll let you in on a little trick that my mom used to do on my sister when she was little. I’ve always had fairly curly hair, but my sister was blessed with the soft waves that I craved. The grass is always greener on the other side!
You don’t need a curling iron or even curlers. My mom would rip up an old pair of stockings or tights into strips and use these to secure the curls!
Take small sections of hair and roll them inwards (towards your face) from the bottom of the hair up to the root. Take the curl, or loop, that you’ve curled upwards and thread one of your stocking scrap pieces through. Tie the stocking in a bow so that it is easy to untie later. If your have shorter hair, the loops will be smaller, but the trick still works!
Repeat all over your head and once your curls are all tied up, spray them with hairspray and let them set for about a half an hour — longer if your hair is thin or fine.
Untie the strips and you’re ready to go!
