Robert Pattinson's Oscar Winning 'Cosmopolis' Costar: 'I Had No Idea Who He Was!'

Rob may be king of the teen and tween world, but it seems like some Hollywood heavyweights have never even heard of the star!

Juliette Binoche is an Oscar winning actress who has starred in over 47 films, in both French and English, but it appears she is not so much a fan of the Twilight series! Juliette, currently starring alongside Robert Pattinson in Cosmopolis, told Russia Radio Station NRJ of her costar: “I had no idea who he was, I have never followed his career or seen Twilight.” Ouch!

This all changed however when Juliette had the chance to meet her charming screen partner. “We had a chance to have a dinner together couple of times, that’s how we met. Turned out he’s a big fan of movies. All these years he watched 2-3 movies a day and one of his favorite movies is The Lovers on the Bridge with myself in it. He’s really funny, just like a kid. He charmed me.” Awwww!

It seems like Rob is gathering quite a following of amazing fans in Hollywood — do you think he is the most charming actor working today?

Finally reality sets in. All this he’s the hottest thing in Hollywood is bull. Robert wasn’t even the first pick in fact he may of been the third or fourth. Look at the interview by the Director for Cosmopolis. This doesn’t make him bad it just means Robert has a lot of work to do to become a Hollywood heavyweight. There is no doubt that every girl from the age of 12-14 are in love with him. All of that is great for his fans but if he wants to stay around he needs a hit that is profitable. Read the information on figuring how studios get paid and you will find out that WFE has only made 34 million which won’t even cover the production budget and doesn’t begin to cover the 22 million in marketing expenses. It was good for him to do another movie besides Twi but now he needs to do one that is a financial sucess. Who cares about critics? Studios don’t if you are bringing in money so if he jumps that hurdle then he can take a breath. Also, Bel Ami is not a movie that will help him. At this point Summit is stopping it from coming out because he plays a bad guy and Summit is afraid of what his young fans would think even though they won’t be able to see the movie because it’s an R rated movie.

Did Rob run over your cat or something Lydia? Let’s can the hyperbole and stick to reality. Cronenberg asked Rob to be in Cosmopolis when Colin Farrel dropped out. Maybe Colin dropped out because it was taking so long to get funding. Right after Rob agreed to do it they magically got funding. He was not 3rd or 4th choice, either.

WFE has made over $114 million and the budget was $38 million. Anyone with a brain knows that’s a profit. His other indie made a profit too. You’ve already proved you don’t know anything about the film business which makes your whole comment worthless. Summit doesn’t control Rob’s career and he’s A List and highly bankable. Directors want to work with him, he’s got a proven track record of supplying profitable films.

Juliette is hardly a Hollywood heavyweight. She’s a wonderful actress who lives and work primarily in France. She hasn’t seen Twilight, so what? Teen vampire movies are not her thing, she’s a mature French woman and doesn’t care about popular American films. And why should she?

She met Rob, was charmed by him and came away with a good impression of his knowledge of films and his sense of humor. She only has nice things to say so don’t try to accentuate a negative that isn’t there.

It is wonderful to hear people say wonderful things about Rob. Everyone who has ever worked with him, directed him, met his as a fan, or come in contact with him as an extra, etc on a set has only had great things to say about him. Without fail everyone says how humble, down to earth, funny, and genuine he is. It is great to hear. I’m sure that he will have a wonderful career and that he will continue to get to work with wonderful people such as Juliette. Its nice to see someone unchanged by fame – especially the level of fame he has to deal with on a daily basis. He is truly the most charming person in Hollywood.

It is so incredible that Robert gets to work with such talented people. I can see why so many people are sure his career will be AMAZING. He chooses to work with interesting people & knows how to choose his roles. I hope his career develops into what it is meant to and i know we’ll see him in the BIG awards soon i can feel it :)
