Bethenny Frankel: 'I'm Not Surprised' Alex McCord & Cindy Barshop Are Leaving 'Real Housewives Of New York City!'

Bethenny tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that she doesn’t miss ‘RHONY’ — and explains why she’s not surprised that Alex and Cindy are done!

Bethenny Frankel once made the decision to leave The Real Housewives of New York City and start her own show Bethenny Ever After, so she’s not thrown off by the fact that Alex McCord and Cindy Barshop won’t be returning next season. ”I’m not surprised,” Bethenny tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “Having seven Housewives is kind of a lot, you can’t have seven. They’re all great, but someone has to go.”

“I’m not surprised about Cindy — she was new and maybe too normal,” continues Bethenny. “She looked a little overwhelmed with everything, but it’s great for her business and it definitely brought awareness to it.”

Cindy, who owns a chain of popular spas called Completely Bare, probably had a tough time focusing on her business and making time to film. “Cindy and I have mutual friends and she probably doesn’t have a lot of time or want to deal with it,” explains Bethenny. “Honestly, it could be really exhausting.”

“And Alex — I don’t know, I honestly haven’t watched enough to know,” adds Bethenny. “I know it almost happened last year, but then she really got into a lot drama.”

Bethenny herself doesn’t miss RHONY at all. “OMG not at all! I’m happy to be off,” she admits. “I wouldn’t want to be on the show. I wouldn’t be proud to show that to my daughter. I’m proud of my show. I wouldn’t want her to see women being rewarded for bad behavior. I want her to see women can get along with one another.”

i really think bravo kept louann just cuz of who she was married to and what his family brought to the us. there is no other reason to keep her. she is fake dont have or even know what good manners are. i will miss jill and alex and doubt i even watch this show anymore.

This has been an awful year for the NYHW – and the reunion was just a mess. Who wants to watch Jill make fun of – and argue with the blonde team? She tears everyone to shreds – and Kelly sits there and adds her 2 cents – it’s not the great show it started out to be – I don’t watch them – I’m looking forward to Bethany’s show starting up again. I can’t imagine spending any time with the Jills, Kelly’s and Cindy’s of NY.

The ONLY reasons I would miss Alex is because I liked laughing at how stupid and unintelligent her comments are and that clueless look she gets on her face when someone calls her on her ridiculous attempts to defend her incredibly dumb and irrelevant comments.

Real Houswives? More like real fishwives. Still it’s nice to know the old fish wife is still around, even in the beyond wealthy circles of New York. However as a british viewer watching, or rather listening on ITV2. (I’m not sure how far we are behind you in viewing seasons). but i would say in listening carefully that both Alex & Jill have been well and truely set up and they both took the bait hook line & sinker. There is only one housewife in that crowd that Run’s with the foxes & hunt’s with the hounds not only that she ensures she is the one who sounds the bugle then sits well back and views the scene from a distance. Ramona. And Bethany there are other people with stories just as tragic if not more dreadfull than yours, so dreadfull, probably from youth, that they cant talk about it and they hide away in a world of nice people and behind rose tinted spectacles so keep your vicious tongue behind your teeth if you cant recognise another wounded soul like yourself. Sonya & LuAnne are both worth their salt, both with faults and both quick to admit they have them from the word go. I like them both and i think Alex & Jill were what made this show. Simon & Bobby are both Husband’s that most women would be so proud of. Faithfull, non Judgemental but protective to their wives emotions, were i in their league i would be proud to call both couples friend, as a listener (Sorry ladies i cant see) I hopr they both make up and forget the past. Stop blaming each other ladies and wake up. Youve both been well and truely manipulated. As for Kelly what she really needs is a true friend, not what any of you have offered so if any of you are in the market to make a true friendship & not a target board for your humour and entertainment then how about extending the hand of friendship to Kelly. she deserves a darn site better that what you all have dished out to her (Not you Bethany. The last thing she needs is you. And Ramona you should keep well away too)So LuAnne, Sonya, Jill & Alex Dont brush Kelly off, she’s been brushed off too much, that’s why the candy ladies. It’s called comfort food.

It’s funny that Bethenny hates the idea of rewarding those women with bad behavior. She was well rewarded for running her mouth off with various rants and tantrums. Voila: her own schlocky show (which I avoid). If the rumor is true about Alex and her ridiculous husband departing – let’s break out the bubbly! I found their self-absorbed characters were desperately seeking attention.
Simon has been a demanding, drunken, unemployed, talentless fool. Alex has been his enabling, boring simp of a wife. Don’t let the door hit them on the way out.

I have watched the RHNY from the start and enjoyed Alex and Simon, they are unique – fun and have grown on me – I won’t watch the show if they go. I like so many others have stopped watcing many of the Bravo shows when cast members I like go away. It will be easy for me to stop especially if the likes of Lou, Jill and Kelly remain – I can sum them up as crazy, delusional, trashy, and not worth watching. Please keep Sonja, Ramona and Alex – they keep the show fun, and upbeat, it seems to be a more positive show.

I have been watching the shows since the beginning. I now realize, the only show that I enjoyed was the Beverly Hills wives, as superfical as they may seem, they showed more real feelings then all the other shows put together.
Jill is the worst friend. Tamara is disgusting she just talks trash about everyone, but can’t handle anyone talking about her. Slade was right, it is obvious she is just living off of everyone. Teresa and Melissa are just dumb and stupid. I agree Bethanny is getting on my nerves. After watching her show, her voice became annoying.

Come on Bravo, you must think your audiance is just fickle. We tune in, why can’t you give us a little more then just a bunch of women backstabbing each other?

It’s obvious that the HW franchises, all of them are strictly for women who have crap they want to hawk and are using the housewives shows to sell them !! Who the hell cares what bethenny thinks, she’s a loud mouth used-car salesman! Plus she left the show after she got her margaritas selling for her.

Obviously in life we can’t get along with everyone. The difference between reality and reality television is that these women get to actually see other women talking about them behind their backs. Bethenny obviously saw herself getting caught up in the drama of the show, and she made a wise decision to leave when she did because she predicted that the show would get more drama-oriented. The RHONYC has become nothing more than a stage for cat fights.

No one is perfect. Everyone makes bad decisions or acts irrational at some point. The important thing is that you fix your problems and move on with your life. Bethenny has done so gracefully.

The thing about women is that we tend to have this mindset of belonging to teams, and it’s ridiculous. We are all on the same team! As women, we should be supporting each other. Look at the entrepreneurial spirit of all the women on the show. That is what we should focus on and applaud. It shouldn’t be about “Team Bethenny” or “Team Jill.”

Yes, I agree that Alex and Cindy are too normal for the show. I think any comment Bethenny has made about Alex shouldn’t be misconstrued. She simply means that Alex got caught up in the drama because she obviously did. She was a part of the show, and as I said before, the show is nothing more than a platform for cat fights. It’s good that Alex and Cindy are leaving. They are so above all this pettiness.

Are you aware that Ramona dissed Bethenny first?? Ramona was out and about saying Bethenny was “dark” for the show and it is better without her. Then Ramona was trying to say Bethenny didn’t make 120 mil on Skinnygirl margarita. That’s why B responded on WWHL. And this is totally nor throwing Alex under any bus. She didn’t say anything negative other than truth, but I don’t think her and Alex are friends anymore anyway.

I’d miss Cindy, is that ok with you? People are probably so happy to see the back of Alex that they are voting for Cindy instead, makes sense, that’s what I did.
