Amanda Knox Suffers Setback During Her Appeal Of Conviction In Roommate's Murder

Rudy Guede, who also convicted of the murder of Meredith Kercher in a separate trial, was expected to say Amanda Knox wasn’t involved — but instead he stood by his original story!

Rudy Guede pinned the guilt on Amanda Knox and then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and Amanda was shocked by his statement. “He knows what the truth is. I don’t know what happened that night,” she said on the stand.

In a letter he wrote to a news website in 2010, Rudy stated that the homicide was committed by Amanda and Raffaele, reported — and he is sticking to what he said. The letter’s content was presented and Guede’s testimony occurred during Knox’s appeal on June 27.

Knox stated that she was ‘shocked’ by Guede’s claim.

Here’s an interesting extra bit — Guede’s information isn’t even based on facts or eyewitness accounts. His defense lawyer says it was based on ‘a feeling.’ So maybe Knox still has some hope? Two pieces of evidence, including a knife and a metal clasp belonging to Kercher’s bra, that were used against her in court are being retested. Will the hard evidence overcome the not-so-legit letter?

The hearing is adjourned until July 25.
