Watch Joe Jonas Chug A Beer! Is He Trying To Prove Like Miley Cyrus, He 'Can't Be Tamed?'

A video of Joe Jonas chugging an entire glass of beer on a European talk show surfaced this week, causing various reactions among fans of the Disney star!

Since the Jonas Brothers first appeared on the scene, sporting their purity rings, opening for Hannah Montana and eventually jump-starting their own Disney career, they have been known for their squeaky-clean image, which explains fans’ unease over Joe Jonas’s beer-chugging stint!

Joe has gone through some bad publicity since the days of the purity ring and the straightened hair. Although he has finally given the flat iron a break, he hasn’t been too easy on the women in his life, going through a series of girlfriends that include Taylor Swift, Camilla Belle, Demi Lovato and Ashley Greene, to name a few.

Stories of him breaking hearts (the famous Taylor Swift phone call break-up) have left Joe in a different position than his bandmates and brother, Nick and Joe. Nick formed his own band, Nick Jonas and the Administration, while older brother Kevin Jonas got married to his longtime girlfriend.

Though Joe is legally able to drink (especially in Europe where the video was filmed), there were days when the pop star would never have allowed such a thing to happen, at the risk of upsetting his fans.

its SO normal that he drank a beer ,cuz he is almost 22 & u already know that.
i think he is a lot like miley cuz they both are so lovely & funny , i love them both.

This is really fun. Joe drank what we call a panaché in France.
It’s beer with a lot of lemonade: really low alcohol content. I drink panaché since i was a young teenager.

Don’t worry, you can’t get drunk with that.

I have always been a Jonas Brother [Joe Jonas] lover ever since they first started. I have grew up with them and watched them grow. I think people and mostly the FANS need to understand that Joe is growing up. We have to let him do that and get away from the Disney family.

Drinking alcohol isn’t the biggest thing in the world to be fussed about. He is at an age where he can drink and BTW don;t compare him to Miley…. she was underaged when she started to drink and really stupid.

joe and nick definitely have a case of the “miley syndrome”
kevin has proven that it is possible to be a respected young man in Hollywood without drinking or losing his purity ring before marriage… both joe and nick have failed in the eyes of many to whom they were role models

HE’S 21!!!! It’s not like he’s still a teenager. One beer does not make one a bad person. Stop putting these Disney alumni on a higher pedestal and see them as the human beings they really are.

I would be more worried if Joe at nearly 22 in August was not behaving like a normal young adult man…The guy drank 1 beer so lets not judge this poor man but see all the great things he has done with his life instead..Yes, at one stage he was with Disney but lets not forget who else was in the Disney bubble (Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Xtina Aguellera,Raven Symone, Lyndsay lohan etc etc).Although they all share success some of these Ppl fell of the bandwagon & are paying the price whereas Joe Jonas has NOT and is doing really well for himself..He is still the same humble, appreciative, talented & caring human being who has done well & shares his success with charities,fans & his family..The difference is he is not 17 anymore but a responsible adult who is continuing this journey we call Life..Everything he is doing, everything he is saying is all NORMAL people, so hop of his back and let the man live. If you are a genuine FAN then support his career not his personal choices in life because that is Joe’s business NOT ours..Looking forward to his solo album & Adventure he has really worked hard for and I for one intend on being supportive and happy for Joe!!

Are you people for real? Do you live in some candyfloss land where people eat marshmallows and drink lemonade? Unless I’m under some serious misapprehension this guy turned 21 last year and is more than of age to drink …. dirty BEER. Yes 21, eligible to vote, drink alcohol, have sex and general behave like an ADULT. I acknowledge he was a Disney product but well, ya know, the contract expired and he became a normal guy ….. he’s trying his best to convey the fact so meet him halfway and deal with it!

First of all, Joe can’t be compared to Miley. Joe is almost 22, Miley is only 18. Secondly, neither of them are with Disney anymore so what difference does it make? They have no obligation to not act a certain way in public because they aren’t under any morality clause now like they used to be. Third, Joe’s solo project is hardly Disney-appropriate. His lyrics are racy and his stage performance is hot. Let the adult man be the adult man. The days of purity rings and lying to fans about their behavior is over. Joe is honest now because he’s finally allowed to be. What’s wrong with that?

I don’t ever recall them saying they would never drink. Sure, they did say they wouldn’t have sex before marriage, and they did that, but they never said they wouldn’t drink. Maybe drink underage, but never not drink at all.

Society needs to stop treating these 18+ disney/former disney stars like babies. There is nothing wrong with 21 year old Joe Jonas drinking a beer, as long as he doesn’t get drunk or drive afterward. There is nothing wrong with 18 year old Miley Cyrus wearing a sexy or erotic outfit, as long as she’s not showing anything that can’t be shown at the beach or walking down the street in her underwear. There’s nothing wrong with 18 year old Selena Gomez vacationing alone with her boyfriend. Maybe if people treated these stars like the independent young ADULTS that they are and stopped expecting them to be little saints all the time they’d feel less of a temptation to go crazy.

Not sure I’d compare him to Miley but like many young stars, once they hit adulthood, they feel the have to prove they are adults. How about they act like adults. Adults don’t have to do this kind of publicity. His single doesn’t sound good so he’s hoping this will sell it? Sorry. Disappointed.
