A year later, Salma pulled out the bold booties once again — are you lusting after them or should she have kept them in the back of her closet?

Whenever I hear that Salma Hayek is going to grace a red carpet, I’m thrilled. The sultry actress and producer is not only super stylish on her own, but she can fall back on the fact that her husband, François-Henri Pinault, is the billionaire CEO of The Gucci Group (which owns Gucci, YSL, and Balenciaga, among many others). Basically, she can wear whatever she wants, whenever she wants — that’s why I was surprised to see her re-wear Balenciaga booties that were not a hit with fashion critics the first time around!

On Apr. 23, 2010, at a benefit in NYC, Salma paired the shoes with simple separates. I appreciated the casual combo, but I think a pair of bright pumps would have been better suited for the look, and done more for her fabulous figure.

Just yesterday, Jun. 22, she stepped out in Beverly Hills in a navy drape dress while carrying a Bottega Veneta bag. The show-stopping shoes looked much better here, adding some edge to an otherwise boring outfit.

While I can’t say I will ever love the booties, it’s really all about how you wear them. Like I said, I love Salma, and she would probably look glamorous in a garbage bag. However, these just seem to be a little too much — the height and pattern take away from the shape of her leg and don’t flatter her petite frame at all!

What do you guys think?
