Although it may have come as a surprise to us, January’s mystery pregnancy was anything but a shock to her: ‘She has wanted this very badly.’

Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner didn’t shed light on who the father of January Jones‘ unborn baby might be, but he did make one point clear: her pregnancy was not as surprising as we thought!

“She has wanted this very badly,” Matthew told E! Online‘s Marc Malkin at the inaugural Critics’ Choice Television Awards on June 20. “She’s got a big heart and she’s been talking about having children since I met her, which is not always common with actresses.”

Wow, now that’s a shock! What isn’t as shocking is that he, as well as her co-star Christina Hendricks, thinks January, 33, will make a great mom. ”I think she’s going to be amazing,” he continued. “She is going to be someone is going to be so devoted.”

As for how January’s pregnancy will be incorporated into the upcoming season of Mad Men, Matthew says, “I have to do something about it, but I’m not going to tell. It could be laundry baskets or it could be a body double. There are a million things you can do.”

Hmm, so Betty won’t be getting pregnant on the show…
