Glee just finished its second music-packed season by losing at Nationals in New York. The third season, which will be airing this fall is going to be full of surprises that many people will be shocked to see.
This season marks change in Glee Club…the cast is getting old, which can only mean one thing, they must graduate! Creator Ryan Murphy spoke about the future of Glee and what will happen next.
Ryan called into On Air With Ryan Seacrest June 17 and spilled some serious details about the future of Glee. When asked about when the cast would graduate and grow up, he responded, “The thing that I wanted to do and the cast wanted to do, we didn’t want to have a show where they were in high school for 8 years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline.”
That does sound cool, but what is Glee Club without Finn and Rachel’s high school love issues and Puck dedicating “Fat Bottom Girls” to his new sweetheart, Lauren Zizes? And life without Brittany’s fabulous one-liners seems unimaginable.
Luckily, not everyone will leave — it will be a progression, which will also include adding new characters this season.
“We’ve got Matt Morrison and Jane Lynch who will stay and be the male and female lynchpins of the series, but I think the fun thing about the show is it’s a celebration of youth and talent and I think that just like with the original cast, I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break into the business and become stars is a really fun and exciting thing and is the spirit of the series,” Ryan explained.
Good thing we still have the Sue Sylvester and Will Schuester banter to keep us grounded!
The next season will be interesting to say the least, especially since one of the contestants on The Glee Project will be joining the cast for about seven episodes. Maybe if we are lucky we will get a love interest for Mercedes, she totally deserves a man of her own!
