Ryan Dunn has been identified as the driver in the tragic car accident that took his life, and the life of an unidentified passenger. He was allegedly drinking for four hours before he got behind the wheel! Update: He was charged with a DUI 6 years ago.
This story just keeps getting sadder. TMZ reports Ryan Dunn drank for almost four hours last night before driving his Porsche 911 “off the road and [into] the woods” where it caught on fire and killed him and his passenger. Their source says Ryan had “three Miller Lites and three girly shots” between 10:30PM and 2:10AM. This source says he was “not too drunk to drive” although a conflicting source says the Jackass star was “wasted” and “had a lot to drink.” And now a new source has come forward and revealed Ryan was charged with a DUI six years ago.
“In 2005, Dunn was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and entered a first offender’s program that allowed him to clear his record after a certain period of good behaviour,” Patrick Carmody, Assistant District Attorney in Chester County, told RadarOnline.com.
Ryan was drinking with friends and tweeting photos of himself at Barnaby’s of America in West Chester, PA. He has now been identified as the driver in the car crash, and he and his passenger “died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.” The car was found “fully engulfed in flames” according to police, and speed may have been a contributing factor.
This is such sad news! If Ryan’s drinking contributed to his crash, it could have been completely preventable. Hopefully this will be a lesson to his fans and everyone who hears this news that it is always best to use caution after you’ve been drinking and to avoid driving at all costs. However, police have yet to comment on whether his drinking contributed to the accident.
