Miley Cyrus New 'Bondage' Looks! Will She Alienate Her 'Hannah Montana' Fans?

Miley Cyrus — Wow! You really are determined to leave any good girl image you had behind. Will bad girl bondage looks bury your past for good?!

Miley Cyrus made it clear when she performed last Friday, June 16 in Pasay City, Philippines, as part of her “Gypsy Heart” world tour, that she’s not worried about her young fans. The 18-year-old appeared on stage in what appeared to be PVC or leather garter-belt-style “bondage” shorts with matching black boots and an exposed bra—and the locals weren’t too pleased!

The Philippine Star ran an opinion piece on Monday, written by the father of a seven-year-old, who attended the concert. He lashed out at Miley, writing, “It seems that a seven-year old has more sense than the 40- or 50-plus-year-old concert organizers who thought nothing of the fact that in the Philippines, Miley Cyrus fans are largely impressionable children who relate to the ‘Hannah Montana’ character and not the clumsy half baked – trying to be sexy evolution of Miley Cyrus.

Miley is no stranger to being an inhibition-less, sexually provocative on-stage performer, though: Last May while performing in Portugal at the Rock In Rio festival, Miley grabbed attention for groping herself—particularly her breasts—on stage while wearing a skin tight, revealing outfit. Plus there’s her “Can’t Be Tamed” video, in which she wears knee-high boots, pole dances and grinds a bunch of people in a pile—which prompted comparison between her and Britney Spears.

And Miley’s beyond-her-years wardrobe meshed well with the grown-up sound of the evening: Aside from singing her own hits such as “The Climb” and “Forgiveness and Love,” she did a cover of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and sang Joan Jett and the Blackhearts’ “I Love Rock And Roll.” At a press conference before the concert, Miley told reporters, “Rockers like Joan Jett made it possible for me.”

The author of this article is clearly biased. “Bondage Shorts” – puh-leaze! What an uneducated writer. First off she’s an entertainer… are you going to complain next about their over-the-top dramatic makeup. Teaching little girls to become hookers??

The tone of the article is completely off-base. First off she’s over 18. Secondly she’s performing as Miley Cyrus… not Hannah Montana. She’s attempting to establish herself beyond the role that made her famous. Third, her outfit is quite matronly compared to what Miss USA contestants wear – and some of them are younger than her.

You can’t keep trying to put someone in a box of your own making. She’s not humping dancers on stage. And hey, before you get your hackles up as a writer of bad press, it’s not her job to do the parent’s jobs. Moms and dad’s who buy the tickets and take their tweens to these concerts have the responsibility to educate their kids and let them know what is fantasy and what is reality – NOT Miley Cyrus.

The person who wrote this article is dumb. He was complaining about the concert not focusing enough on her Hannah Montana character. News flash. Tis IS NOT a Hannah Montana concert. It is a MILEY CYRUS concert. I also don’t get why people shelter their children so much. It is only going to affect them poorly in the future.

All current Adult age Entertainers, like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga have young fans, but no one protest their stage outfits. Why Miley. She is and adult. She is entitled to move on with her adulthood. Sound like this is an isolated incident. By far the majority of the comments and post I have read been positive. Beside, Miley considers her core fans to be those who started out with her when she was early teen and are now the same age as she is. She can’t help it if parents of these children fail to teach their children that the character she plays and her real life persona, are different. There will be no Hannah Montana concerts. Disney own the rights to any songs she sang with the wig on, and Miley isn’t putting the wig back on.

So grow up, and realize she is a major star in the same grouping as Rihanna, Gaga, and Katy Perry, and stop trying to whine, “but what about her young fans”. What about them. They will just have to settle for TV reruns, unless you are going to start critising all the other adult female entertainers like Gage, then we will talk.
