Doug Hutchison knows you think it’s strange he’s in love with a girl 35 years his junior — but he doesn’t care. Doug, 51, most famous for The Green Mile, Lost and The X-Files, married Courtney Alexis Stodden, 16, on May 20 in Las Vegas. We know what you’re thinking … is this legal? The answer is … yes.
“Shockingly it is legal,” says top NYC divorce attorney Vikki Ziegler. “However generally you must have one parent or a legal guardian be present at the ceremony or a notarized document for the individual who is 16-years-old to get a marriage license. If you’re under 16, marriage can only be authorized under a court order. If the parents refuse to sign or give their permission then perhaps a court would intervene. Courts unless there is a crime alleged or committed generally do not step in.”
Doug and Courtney have released a statement to E! News:
“We’re aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial,” the couple said. “But we’re very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless.”
Courtney has put her pageant days behind her and is looking to become a country star. Maybe her famous hubby can help her with that now.

what i don’t understand is why they didnt just wait 2 years until she was 18 and legal. if they were really in love they could have waited.they just wanted to create a buzz.

She’s NOT a pageant queen Mommy paid the Trump Pagent people a fee that GAVE her the title of MISS OCEAN SHORES with no competition what so ever. And to top it off she’s had the boobs since she was 14.

I am 22 and would never marry an old guy like that. Look at hef and crystal she just wanted her song to be noticed on iTunes. Actually, maybe he’s acutely aware of why she wants him. I actually agree with you as to why. He probably figures to make her earn every penny while he’s still around. If they’re both parasites, they can feed off each other.

what happens to some of these men as they get older and suddenly they convince themselves anything is okay as long as it means they get to have sex with a young girl? this guy is old enough to be her father’s father. i’m sure someone’s gonna say, “if they’re happy, let them be…,” but- this is one point i’ll refuse to see another side to. he may open some doors for her with his money and connections, but this is still pedophile behavior to me. yuck.
