The young mother was found by police after ‘threatening to end her life.’ So sad.
Teen Mom‘s Amber Portwood was found in and out of consciousness by authorities on June 14 after a possible suicide attempt.
Amber, 21, is currently in the emergency room at St. Johns Hospital in Anderson, Indiana, RadarOnline.com reports.
Authorities say Amber was found shortly before noon, after allegedly ingesting a mixture of pills. On-again, off-again boyfriend Gary Shirley‘s mother reportedly made the call to police, after Gary grew concerned while talking to an increasingly distraught Amber over the phone.
“Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence in the 1300 block of Pleasant Meadow Drive. According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life,” authorities say in a statement. “The victim, who did not appear to be injured, was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation.”
And late Thursday afternoon, MTV released this statement: “Our understanding is that Amber has been admitted to a local hospital but we have not been able to confirm the accuracy of any reports being circulated and are waiting for further details. Our thoughts are with her and we hope to hear more soon.”
Star magazine has confirmed that Amber was rushed to the hospital, but has regained consciousness and is currently stabilized.
Hollywoodlife.com has reported in that past that Amber was taking anti-anxiety medication Klonopin, which has extremely dangerous affects, especially when mixed with alcohol.
But with all of the stress Amber has been going through with her domestic violence court case, as well as losing custody of 2-year-old Leah to Gary, the Teen Mom is obviously overwhelmed and has been seeking help.
“I’ve been going to a therapist for two years now,” she admitted to HollyBaby.com exclusively. “Not only has therapy and my psychiatrist helped me, I’ve also grown. I’m 21 years old now. It’s a completely different way of living, completely different way of thinking. People don’t understand how much you learn within two years of your life.”
And luckily, although they do go through rough patches, Gary is standing by Amber’s side and is truly trying to make sure she gets through the pain.
“He’s 100% supportive of me and we are working this out,” she told us after she pled guilty in the domestic violence case. “It’s my first conviction of anything.”
