Ally Sheedy, star of The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo’s Fire celebrates 49 today!

This Manhattan native was also seen in the movies WarGames, Short Circuit, and Maid to Order. She has also written two books — not to mention she’s a mom! In 1992 Ally was married to Godspell producer David Lansbury and had a daughter, Rebecca, in 1994. Unfortunately, she divorced David in 2008.

“I try very hard just to trust in her and let her be who she is and let her become her own self,” she once said of her daughter on Babble.com. “The best advice I was ever given was to let this wonderful person develop and stay out of her way.”
