Congressman Anthony Weiner Is Taking A Leave Of Absence After Sexting Scandals — Will He Quit Soon?

Sat, June 11, 2011 4:22pm EDT by William Earl 7 Comments

The disgraced politician is headed to an unknown sexual rehabilitation center.

Congressman Anthony Weiner released a statement on June 11, announcing he’s taking a leave of absence from his post, the New York Times reports.

The statement said, “Congressman Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person. In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated and map out a course of treatment to make himself well. Congressman Weiner takes the views of his colleagues very seriously and has determined that he needs this time to get healthy and make the best decision possible for himself, his family and his constituents.”

We hope he gets all the help he needs to get back in the good graces of his wife Huma Abedin — after all, she’s pregnant with his child!
