Are Nikki Reed And Paul MacDonald Moving Too Fast Or Does Love At First Sight Exist?

Is falling head over heels for a guy you barely know a bad thing?

When Nikki Reed saw Paul MacDonald perform on American Idol this season, she knew she wanted to meet him. She pursued him single-mindedly, moved him into her LA home and now, mere months later, are reportedly engaged. Is this relationship going to last or are Nikki and Paul just going with the moment?

The Breaking Dawn starlet showed off a big old diamond sparkler at the MTV Movie Awards last weekend, causing some serious shock. At the rate these two are moving — they’ve already gotten matching tattoos and are house-hunting together — they’ll have kids by the end of next year!

They’re in love; I won’t dispute that. But the realist in me wants Nikki in particular to be careful. She was the aggressor in their relationship, and although she’s a beautiful Hollywood actress, men typically like to do the chasing. Also, he’s riding the high of being in her world. He’s benefitting the most from this relationship: Nikki’s Twilight dad, Peter Facinelli, is even having Paul contribute music to a film he’s producing!

This isn’t to say that when the two actually met face to face that love at first sight didn’t exist. But from prior comments Paul has made to the effect of ‘Yeah, we’re chilling. She’s a dope girl” — I’m not sure he felt that instant ‘he’s the one’ click that Nikki did.

When it’s right, it’s right and you’ll know it. But I think it’s always best to err on the side of caution. Paul has less to lose in this love match than Nikki does, so she should be playing a little bit safer with her heart lest it get broken.

Oh my gosh, please God, don’t let this break Nikki’s heart. I’m not a close friend or anything, sop i can’t take say if it’s true love or not, but they are going FAST. I hope,no, pray it turns out well. They are both very sweet people and i don’t want them to be heartbroken over a hasty decision.

All i can think about is those fairytales you hear as a kid. prince meets princess and they instantly are in love, and must be married. and they live happily ever after…as far as we know. I really do wish the best for them.

paul is a sincere, nice, genuine guy. if you’re going to report on his feelings, shouldn’t you attempt to talk to him or his friends and family first?

at least don’t take paul’s casual words to the media as a major indicator that his feelings for nikki were also casual. you have to remember that he left the idol bubble and was immediately asked about nikki in every interview. he didn’t have experience dealing with national and tabloid media before then. it was a shock, and every word he said was picked apart.

nikki’s friends and family have embraced the relationship, even though it’s undeniably moving very fast. i don’t think they would do that if paul was some user, which you imply.

besides, give nikki some credit. she’s a very mature 23. she wouldn’t let some random guy use her.
