Cory Lamb, 25, was getting ready to film the music video for his first single, “Break the Cycle,” but still had no director. That’s when a Baldwin brother stepped in!
“We got a call from Stephen Baldwin and he loved the song and I loved his concept of the video and what he wanted to do with it.” Cory tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “I was dumbfounded when he called. I don’t usually get flustered, but I was a little flustered.”
The two decided to meet in Nashville to talk about their ideas for the video.
“Not only is Cory’s music relevant, but his message is, as well,” Stephen says. “I believe in Cory’s passion and outside the box thinking in regards to delivering a positive message to today’s youth.”
“Break the Cycle” is influenced by Cory’s personal message of being your own individual and resisting negative temptations.
“The song is going from what the world is telling you to be and getting out of that dark hole and going for it,” Cory explains.
So far, Stephen’s happy with the reviews of his first directorial job. “I think a majority of response to the video was ‘Wow, this is cool.’ Because it’s old school in an 80s kind of way.”
Cory hopes that collaborating with Stephen will help “bring the video to the front of the Top 40 to get the message out.”
