One of Hollywood’s most notoriously charitable couples are helping to rebuild lives in Missouri with a generous donation.
Friday, Jun. 10, Brad and Angelina donated $500,000 to the Community Foundation for the Ozarks after a devastating tornado that swept through Joplin, Missouri on May 22. It killed dozens of people and leveled hundreds of buildings, including schools and a hospital.
“With the devastating loss of thirty percent of the city, the Joplin community faces great challenges ahead. Having spent much of my childhood there, I know these people to be hardworking, humble and especially resilient, ” said Brad, who grew up in nearby Springfield, Missouri.
Explained Brian Fogle, President of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks: “Rebuilding after a disaster is a long process. As our neighbors in Joplin begin to deal with the devastation, this donation from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation gives them the hope and confidence they will need to rebuild their lives, homes and community.”
Brad and Angie also played a huge effort in rebuilding New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. It’s so great to see celebs that use their money for good!
