In the midst of Maria Shriver’s heartbreak over her husband’s 20 year affair, Lisa believes she should immerse herself in work! Do you agree?
Maria Shriver wasn’t always Mrs. Schwarzenegger. The mom-of-four was a hard-hitting journalist with NBC, won a Peabody award and helped the network win an Emmy for their Olympics coverage. But in 2004, less than three months after her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger was named Governor of California, she gave up her journalism career, claiming a conflict of interest. HollywoodLife.com spoke with journalist Lisa Ling and current host of Our America with Lisa Ling on Oprah‘s new OWN network, and she thinks Maria’s next move should be returning to her career in news!
“I think we would all be so lucky if she would come back and be a really be a wide mainstream presence on television,” Lisa said at the Samsung Hope For Children Gala. “She really is a jewel of a person.”
Shriver has publicly thanked her fans for their love on Twitter, declaring, “Thank you all for the kindness, support and compassion. I am humbled by the love. Thank you.” Lucy is among the legion of fans who finds Maria to be an inspiration.
“Maria is one of the women I admire most,” she told us. “She is brilliantly intelligent, and one of the most compassionate people I know.”
Although Maria claimed she wouldn’t be returning to the world of news media, we’re with Lisa on that one – come back, Maria!
