Scott has enemies coming at him from all sides, but I’m thinking he might just be his own biggest threat.
As expected, our boy Scott’s (Tyler Posey) life got even more complicated on the second episode of MTV’s Teen Wolf, particularly his relationships with hot new girl Allison (Crystal Reed) and lacrosse team rival Jackson (Colton Haynes.) While Scott’s wolf-y powers helped him win the big game, much to Jackson’s displeasure, they also caused him to lose control — and nearly eat Allison during a not-so-hot locker room encounter.
Lurking in the distance, once again, was everyone’s favorite bushy-browed werewolf Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) who continues to leave everyone guessing whose side he’s really on. This week, Scott and Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) dug up a dead body in Derek’s yard and turned him into the police. But his stint in the slammer didn’t last long, as the morgue determined the corpse had been killed by animal. Even worse, the victim turned out to be Derek’s werewolf sister!
I said it last week but I’ll say it again: Stiles is absolutely my favorite character on Teen Wolf. Maybe it was because he had the best line of this episode (“Sorry, I just took a lot of Adderall”) or maybe it’s because I find his awkward Seth Cohen-esque routine oddly entrancing. Either way, he’s always a welcome presence on-screen as far as I’m concerned.
A close runner-up for favorite character, of course, is the creepy lacrosse coach. Even before he brought up his brother’s addiction to meth — totally unprovoked, by the way — I had him pegged as a bit of an odd ball. I’m thinking Beacon Hills High School needs to start doing more thorough background checks.
