After much debate, Prince William and his new bride have reportedly chosen a place to live! The Royal Couple will move into a two bedroom apartment in the palace where William grew up with his mom, in just a few weeks!
Prince William and Kate Middleton are doing everything they can to keep Princess Diana’s memory alive. The happy couple have been living in a $1,200 a month farmhouse in the Northern Wales county of Anglesey where William is a search and rescue pilot in the Royal Air Force, but they’re getting an upgrade. People reports that Mr. & Mrs. Wales will be moving into Kensington Palace in late June.
“A number of options for longer term solutions are still being considered,” a spokesperson for the couple says. “The couple’s main home will continue to be their house on Anglesey, and their [administrative] Household Office will continue to be based at St. James’s Palace.”
Kensington Palace is where Princess Diana resided up until her untimely death in 1997 — so it comes as no shock that Prince William would call this place home. Princess Diana’s apartment has since been turned into offices but William and Kate will live in another apartment on the grounds.
William has done everything possible to make his mother a key part of his life and marriage with Kate. He proposed with his mother’s sapphire engagement ring and even had a special hymn for her at their Westminster Abbey ceremony.
The couple definitely needs a London residence. They’ve been using William’s “bachelor apartment” at his father Prince Charles’ home of Clarence House. But with their first official trip to America right around the corner, and their desire to start a family, this is the perfect place to start.
The “light and airy” apartment has reportedly been vacant for 15 years and will need to undergo some renovations before they move in.
