No celebrity was safe from Jason’s biting comments… and no viewer was safe from laughter!
Let’s be real for a second: While an MTV Movie Awards host should be funny and keep the show flowing, their most important job is finding a way to insult every relevant celebrity in the room. Jason Sudeikis met that requirement brilliantly June 5, taking shots at Justin Timberlake for his recent comments about dating Britney Spears; Arnold Schwarzenegger for fathering half of Southern California; and even Blake Lively for “not confirming” her nudie cell phone pics. Well done, sir!
And can we talk about how Jason introduced himself to present alongside his 30 Minutes or Less co-stars Nick Swardson and Danny McBride? And on a little scooter, no less. Only a truly great host would know just how much Americans love seeing grown men on tiny scooters. And I’m not even being sarcastic.
To be fair, the Movie Awards have had some great hosts in recent years – Aziz Ansari (2010), Andy Samberg (2009) and Sarah Silverman (2007) all get a tip of my hat for their excellent work — and Jason more than deserved to join their ranks.
