'The Hunger Games' To Follow In 'Twilight' And 'Harry Potter's' Footsteps — Four Movies Out Of Three Books!

Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and the rest of the cast signed contracts for four — that’s right — FOUR ‘The Hunger Games’ movies, even though the book series is only a trilogy! Woo hoo!

The shrewd reasoning behind this decision? Profit. Lionsgate saw what Summit was doing with Twilight and what Warner Bros did with Harry Potter and decided to squeeze one more film out of the deal. And we can’t say we’re disappointed — bring it on!

Even though they’re not 100% making a fourth movie, Lionsgate has made sure to cover themselves in this process — signing the up-and-coming cast consisting of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson , John C. Reilly and Liam Hemsworth for four films, reports our sister site, Deadline.com.

This was a smart move, considering both Summit and Warner Bros. had to pay a considerable fee to their respective casts who had only signed on to do one movie per book.

Are you glad there will be an extra movie? Where do you think they should break the third book for the third and fourth films? Sound off below!

its not even John Reilly who will play Haymitch, its Woody Harrelson, right? What a mistake, Hollywood Life! Correct these simple mistakes or no one will ever believe you here.

Just wanted to point out that John C. Reilly has nothing to do with the movie… he was rumored to play Haymitch but another actor was chosen instead

cosign. I really liked the hunger games but I’m over the series already and it hasn’t even started filming the first one! I’m more interested in Mortal Instruments now than Hunger Games.
