Nick Jonas may be wise beyond his years, but should he really be going to Indonesia with a girl who’s eight years older than him?
Call me crazy, but I think it’s nuts for Delta Goodrem — a 26-year-old woman — to be going on vacation with an 18-year-old boy (Nick Jonas)…especially to an exotic location like Bali, Indonesia. The new couple is currently there under the guise of working at a song writing retreat — however, they arrived four days before the retreat began, so the sojourn is obviously more than just “work.”
Separately, I’m obsessed with both Delta and Nick. They are both creative and talented — not to mention, gorgeous. But as a couple, I’m not convinced they’re a good match.
First of all, Delta JUST broke up with her boyfriend (and fiance) of seven years, Brian McFadden. I’m nervous she’s using Nick as a rebound. He’s sweet, innocent and huge in the USA — a perfect catch for her.
Both Nick and Delta are in different places in their lives. Until very recently, Nick wore a purity ring as a sign of his chastity and intense faith. Delta — on the other hand — has had multiple long-term and high-profile relationships, and was even accused of breaking up Brian’s marriage.
Plus, it’s not like Nick and Delta have been together for so long. Although it’s hazy as to when they first started hooking up, their first public appearance was only a couple weeks ago.
Now they are in Bali…together. It’s weird!

Um, let’s be honest. If the roles were reversed where he was 26 and she was 18, no one would bat an eye. It certainly wouldn’t be news-worthy. Who cares? You make it sound like she is doing something dirty, and she’s not. Men do it constantly, so why the double-standard? More power to her–he’s hot.
