In a new interview with the Telegraph‘s Will Lawrence, a man who’s had the opportunity to profile Angie, 35, on many occasions, the mom-of-six can’t help but blush while divulging her innermost thoughts about her partner of almost six years, Brad Pitt.
“I am very lucky with Brad,” she says. “He is a real gentleman, but he is also a real man’s man. He’s got the wonderful balance of being an extraordinary, great, loving father, a very, very intelligent man and physically he’s a real man, in all things that it means.'”
Here’s my issue with this — sure, it must be great being a multi-millionaire, having a gorgeous and loving partner who is by their side, and travel the globe with six adorable kids. But does Angie need to remind everyone of it constantly?
Shortly after Brad and Jen divorced in 2005, Angie famously told Vogue that she and Brad fell in love while on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith — while he was still married to Jen! That was a serious breach of girl code.
“Because of the film, we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened,” Angie shockingly revealed. “I think a few months in I realized, ‘God, I can’t wait to get to work.”
This prompted Jen to address Angelina for the first time publicly in her own issue of Vogue two years later — calling Angelina “uncool” for being so open about how she fell in love with Brad. And who will ever forget Brangelina’s W photo shoot in which they were shamelessly pretending to be a married couple in the 60s with a brood of kids — only six months after Brad and Jen announced they were divorcing! They weren’t even officially divorced!
Any woman in Jen’s shoes would have been absolutely crushed.
When the devastating and unnecessary photo shoot hit stands in the middle of Jen’s very bitter divorce, Jen sat down with Vanity Fair and famously said: “There’s a sensitivity chip that’s missing [in Brad]. I just don’t know what happened. … I feel as if I’m trying to scrounge around and pick up the pieces in the midst of this media circus.”
It doesn’t matter if your Team Jen or Team Angelina, any woman would be lucky to emotionally survive a public heartbreak such as this.
Perhaps Angie’s recent reveal is due to the buzz surrounding Jen’s potential topless scene in her upcoming flick Horrible Bosses. Or maybe Angie just simply doesn’t get it.
Angie has come a long ways since her days of drinking blood, bisexuality, and locking lips with her brother but maybe Angie should learn that some things are better left unsaid.
