Kirstin Says: Taylor Swift Nails That Awkward Moment We've All Had With Our Exes In 'Story Of Us' Music Video!

Who hasn’t had that horrible feeling when you’re around a former boyfriend or girlfriend at the same event? Taylor Swift’s new ‘Story of Us’ video portrays it perfectly!

There’s nothing worse than standing in a crowded room with your former fling and not knowing where you stand. Do you talk to him? Do you wave? Do you ignore him completely? Obviously, he knows you’re there! Taylor Swift‘s video for her single “Story of Us” came out May 24, and I love how she portrays this incredibly awkward and uncomfortable moment.

Although the song is reportedly about Taylor running into an ex at an awards show, she set the video in an Ivy League college library. The song begins with her meeting a hot nerd in the book stacks and having instant chemistry. In typical fashion, the fling dies out and the rest of the song Taylor is stuck in the library with him only a couple tables away. She’s miserable because she doesn’t know if she should go talk to him, or keep avoiding his stares altogether. Eventually, they do share a moment, but by that point, their relationship is dead as a doornail.

I’ve loved this song since I first heard it last winter and the video embellishes it perfectly. I also appreciate the ending — things didn’t work out between them and they had to get on with their lives. Taylor doesn’t sugar coat the relationship. Anyone who’s dated around knows this situation all too well!

What do YOU think of Taylor’s latest video? Sound off below!
