Kayla had the most difficult pregnancy we’ve seen yet! Can you imagine dealing with anorexia with a baby on the way?
Kayla, the star of May 24′s 16 And Pregnant, was a senior in high school and had been with her boyfriend, Mike, for the past two years. He was really supportive of her decision to have the baby — but the same couldn’t be said for her mother, who wasn’t thrilled that her daughter was soon going to be a teen mom. But at least mom, Deb, seems to be willing to help raise the baby at first.
Kayla was diagnosed with anorexia at 13, and she worried about how much weight the baby would put on her during the pregnancy. She was really uncomfortable with her body, and her doctors constantly urged her to put on weight for the baby. Fortunately, her boyfriend Mike is really supportive and decided to move in with Kayla and her mom Deb before the baby arrived.
Sadly, this meant Mike’s college plans had to be put on the back burner while he helped pregnant Kayla care for herself and their unborn baby. At eight months pregnant, she was feeling very weak, so her doctor urged her to go to the E.R. The nurse told her she needed to eat more, so she gave Kayla food and sent her on her way. Soon after that hopsital visit, Kayla went into labor and gave birth to a healthy baby boy!
Mike and mom Kayla were thrilled with the birth, but things got ugly when they went back to living with Kayla’s mom, Deb — she asked them to move out and figure things out on their own! Kayla said she feels abandoned by her mom, but she’s hopeful for her future with her new little family.

I got so seriously angry at Kayla’s mother, and her lame ass excuses for not being there for her daughter when she needed her support and guidance. She is the epitome of how a mother should not be. Asking her daughter to go on a diet with her, when her daughter was previously anorexic just cause the mother had put on weight, and thought Kayla could show her tricks on how to lose it. Making them pay rent causing her daughter’s boyfriend unable to watch their son, making it impossible for Kayla to finish up school. At every point of this episode all I could see was this sorry mistake of a mother set her daughter up for failure, on purpose. It made me so sad to watch, and sick to my stomach. Compared to the other girls from this season her daughters situation seemed like a walk in the park. Shame on her for being a sad excuse as a mother, and not supporting her daughter. At this point Kayla seemed like a much better mother than she’ll even be. I personally think her mom has a drug problem, cause in every take she seemed stoned out of her skull.
