I can’t keep my eyes off of the newest honey-hued stars at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards!

Fergie and Beyonce look super sexy with their light hair, but going blonde requires some serious maintenance. I asked celebrity hairstylist Natasha Sunshine, owner of the Byu-Ti Salon in LA, to give us some blonde-girl tips and tricks!

As a brunette myself, I’ve always been too nervous to ever dye my hair light for fear of the grueling maintenance. It seems like Fergie and Beyonce do not share my fears! I decided to ask Natasha a few of my pressing blonde hair questions!

How often should someone touch up their color after a drastic dye job from dark to light?

“Initially, plan on more frequent visits due to fading, about 4-6 weeks. After about three visits you’ll likely be able to move your visits to 8-12 weeks.”

What sorts of shampoo, conditioner and styling products are best for color-treated hair?

“Being a Pureology lover, I haven’t found a line of hair care that works better to keep hair color vibrant and long lasting.”

Serious coloring like going light blonde from dark brunette often is damaging to hair. How do you recommend people protect and nourish their damaged, color-treated tresses?

“Use your daily conditioner as well as a deep conditioning masque once a week.”

What mask would you recommend?

“Try Pureology’s essential repair masque. The added protein will help your hair condition as well as keep your color.”

Have YOU ever made a drastic hair color change?
