Nikki and Paul move fast — but will their relationship last?

Kudos to Nikki Reed for being a woman who knows what she wants, acting on it and getting it! After seeing Paul McDonald perform on American Idol this season, she knew she wanted to meet and potentially date him. But after a mere two months together, the couple has moved in together! Can it last when you’re moving so fast?

In addition to “already living together in L.A.,” as an insider tells Us Weekly, she’s helping him meet contacts and potentially land a record deal after getting kicked off Fox’s hit singing competition pretty early in the game. The source says the two are unquestionably getting “serious.”

Here’s the thing: while it’s great to find someone you really like that you feel strongly about, it’s quite another to escalate the relationship to a level where you’re living with your boyfriend after such a short period of time.

When you’re in the limelight and flitting around the world on filmshoots or press junkets, your relationship can’t be entirely normal, of course. Although Nikki, 23, has loads of free time on her hands soon after wrapping Breaking Dawn (although she might start shooting the thriller Downer’s Grove shortly), Paul is embarking on the the summer Idol tour soon. Moving in together might be a bid to make their relationship last, in a weird, backward kind of way.

Still, I think it’s too soon. You can’t hurry love, after all. Relationships can get intense very quickly, but those same relationships that sizzle immediately usually fade out just as quickly.

There are exceptions — just look at Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom — but you should probably make sure you know your guy before you move in with him. Just think how easy it will be to turn love into loathing if you’re stuck constantly cleaning up his dirty underwear? Sorry ladies, but that’s the reality of living with a guy. Make sure you know him well enough to accept his flaws…before you move him in.
