Child services aren’t backing off Mariah, despite an honest explanation behind allegations she drank alcohol and popped pills while in hospital with her newborn twins.
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon claim they were sold out by nurses, who suggested the new mom drink Guinness to help her breastfeed and then called child services on her. But authorities are keeping the case open until they are 100 percent certain the diva didn’t neglect Moroccan and Monroe.
“The case will probably remain open for the next week, out of caution,” A source tells RadarOnline.com.
The drama kicked off on May 12 when officers visited Mariah’s bedside, after a tip-off from within the LA maternity unit.
The incident was quickly dismissed as a tabloid sting gone wrong — and Nick even appeared on Piers Morgan‘s CNN talk show that night to laugh off the the suggestion Mariah was mistreating their babies.
But insiders claim the comedian made the situation worse, by exploding with rage when the officials from LA’s Department of Child and Family Services showed up.
The source adds, “There has been absolutely no findings that either Mariah or Nick were doing anything illegal, or that could place the twins in danger.”
“Unfortunately Nick was extremely angry when DCFS officials attempted to interview Mariah, which just escalated the situation. His anger didn’t help the situation.
“Under California law, anytime there is any allegation made involving the welfare and safety of a child, DCFS is required to investigate. Mariah was extremely cooperative with DCFS and answered all the questions. Mariah understood why Nick was upset. He was just trying to protect her, and the twins.”
According to RadarOnline.com, the couple can expect at least one more visit from child services. Let’s hope Nick keeps his cool this time and the couple can resolve this messy situation!

@Jel I totally agree with you why should Cps be going after them when Mariah did nothing wrong other stars that have nursed over the years have done the same thing and didn’t get called on for it. unfortunately the investigation won’t finish until next week the UCLA nurse that claimed she was neglecting the twins should be fired. like the ones that leaked confidential info on her to the tabs while she was there for exhaustion 10 years ago were
