Happy Birthday, Cate Blanchett! You're 42 Today, May 14!

The mom-of-three is currently filming for the new “Lord of the Rings” prequels, parts one and two of “The Hobbit!”

Cate Blanchett, who is most known for her roles in movies like The Gift, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Aviator, Elizabeth: The Golden Age and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, has another big year ahead of her!

Cate is set to reprise her role as Galadriel in The Hobbit, parts one and two, which she’ll star in alongisde fellow Lord of the Ring-ers, Ian McKellan, Ian Holm, Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood!

But, the Oscar winning actress‘ number one priority remains being a devoted mom to her three boys, Dashiell, 9, Roman, 7, and Ignatius, 3, with husband, playwright Andrew Upton.

“It is very touching when you see echoes of your parents, your brothers and sisters or your partner in them,” she says of her kids. “Touching and strangely comforting, in fact. It completes some kind of circle, somehow.”
