Recovering addict Matthew Perry is stepping out of the lime light for a month to continue his recovery!

Unlike so many celebs who let the Hollywood life in the fast lane control their lives, Matthew Perry is opting to take a step back and stay on the wagon. We applaud his continued efforts as a recovering addict.

“I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery. Please enjoy making fun of me on the world wide web,” the 41-year-old actor told TMZ May 12.

During his years on Friends, Matthew went to rehab twice for his addiction to prescription pills. Most recently he’s been the co-creator, co-writer, executive producer and star of the ABC sitcom Mr. Sunshine, which premiered in February.
