At 62 years old, Lina Alavrez has two sons — and another baby on the way, according to Daily Mail! Even crazier, the Spanish doctor is already eight months along and is set to give birth to her first daughter next month. Pretty amazing, right? And so far, Lina’s pregnancy has not only been “normal,” but according to Lina it’s peen “perfect!” In fact, the expectant mother claims she’s never been happier.
“I feel like a woman in her 30s. To feel better than this is impossible,” Lina told her local media in the province of Lugo, which is located in north western Spain. The doctor even went on to say that she’s, “better than when not pregnant, by illusion, by hormones, and the happiness of being a mother, because motherhood is the greatest.”

But just how did a 62-year-old become pregnant in the first place? Lina revealed that while she started menopause 20 years ago, after undergoing fertility treatment, she was able to conceive again. “I always wanted to be a mother again, but most medical experts said no,” Lina said. “However, some years ago I met a gynecologist who agreed to help me if the tests were ok, and they were positive so he planted an embryo.”
The soon-to-be-new mom added that there was only a six percent chance of success, which is why she’s overjoyed to be given another chance at motherhood. She even has a name picked out for her daughter already — she’ll call her little girl Lina. “Everything is going perfectly. I feel like I’m having a second chance and the pregnancy has made me feel younger and stronger,” she gushed.
Lina is already the mother to a 27-year-old, who was left disabled after a medical error left him injured during her first pregnancy. Her son’s condition was tragically caused when a gynecologist damaged her son’s head during a routine test, which also led to the breakdown of her marriage. As a result, the 27-year-old requires constant care and she is his primary caregiver. She also has a son who’s 10 years old, he was born when she was 52, also through IVF treatment.
But in terms of her latest pregnancy, baby Lina is said to be developing well and already weighing in at 4.4 Lbs. “When she will be 30, I will be 90,” Lina said. “I will be a grandmother as well as a mother and so what, the fact is that my daughter will have been brought up.”
Despite the controversy Lina’s situation has reportedly sparked in Spain, we wish her the best in her journey. “I am very happy because I am living now my reward for so much suffering,” the expectant mom concluded. “It is a miracle.”
