Kate Gosselin Rocks An Over-The-Top Hat At The Kentucky Derby -- And Rushes Home For Mother's Day!

Even though she spent the weekend partying, Kate made it home to spend the big day with her kids!

We were a little skeptical Kate Gosselin was making the right decision heading to the 2011 Kentucky Derby — without her eight kids — on Mother’s Day weekend. But it looks like she was able to get back home in time to spend the day with her children!

Kate, 36, walked the red carpet in her most ridiculous hat for the 137th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville on May 7. Per usual, she looked pretty great for a mom of eight! But Kate was snapped the next morning at Reagan National Airport in Washington DC, headed home to spend the day with her family.

We’re so glad Kate was able to fly back and be with her kids on Mother’s Day — we’re sure they planned a super-special day for her!

Oh for crying out loud to all you Kate haters leave the poor woman alone, yeh she’s made mistakes but haven’t we all, at least she’s tried to make something of her life. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to raise 8 children I struggle and I’ve only four of em. If this is the way she wants to live her life then we should respect that just like we all do with other people in the media eye. Get a life sad people and leave the bitchy remarks to yourselves !

ALSO I hate how people comment on a woman’s looks. WE ARE WOMAN WE SHOULD LOVE EACH OTHER. We all are normal and flawed under that fake mask we wear for the public (inside and out). Kate has 8 kids… How would you do under that stress? plus a divorce from a husband? Think about having paparazzi stalk you and your family during times of NO MAKEUP and FAMILY PROBLEMS. Huh? She and Steve left the Airport on Mother’s Day and she didn’t arrive home until late and got Chinese takeout for the kids because she didn’t want to cook on her day. She says so herself on Twitter. Also, there’s a video of her and Steve at the Airport yesterday (Mother’s Day)on Radar.

Her hat is not over the top, it’s what they wear at the Derby. Why be such a hater? Jon was jealous he was not invited to attend. It was probably his weekend and they came home on Sunday to be with her. Sometimes alone mom time is the best gift for Mother’s Day. Why are people not “dogging” other family on TLC who have a show about multiples? She’s allowed to be away from her kids. Lord knows Jon did enough partying the first yr to last him a lifetime. Everybody KNOWS, Momster’s priority is NOT THE KIDS! Her claim to fame is the Gosselin 8 AND she’s happiest when she AWAY from the kids!!
