Being a bridesmaid has never been the most glamorous job — until now! Designers often race to recreate iconic wedding gowns, but for the first time ever they’re copying a bridesmaids dress!
Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge looked breathtaking at the Royal Wedding, but her sister Pippa Middleton almost stole the show — and we aren’t the only ones who noticed! Girls all over the world couldn’t get enough of Pippa’s custom-made Alexander McQueen gown crafted by Sarah Burton, who was enlisted to create the instantly iconic dresses worn by the bride and her maid of honor on the big day.
While designers are racing to recreate Kate’s dress, for the first time ever they’re also copying a bridesmaid dress for once! Forget about being forced to don an over-the-top frock in an unattractive hue, now you can still look chic even if it isn’t your big day, thanks to brands like David’s Bridal, Faviana, and more!
Chief Executive for Faviana, Omid Moradi, said he was in awe with Pippa’s dress, even more so than Kate’s! “Bridesmaids’ dresses are generally ugly. Nobody wants to wear them,” Mr. Moradi told the The New York Times — and he wasn’t the only one who was shocked to see such a pretty dress on Pippa!
“There was really no anticipation about Pippa’s dress,” Dan Rentillo design director for David’s Bridal, told the The New York Times. “I can’t think of one where there was such a fuss over the bridesmaid’s dress.”
If you want to get your hand on a gown inspired by Pippa’s look, you can start pre-ordering now. The Faviana frock you see above will retail for $320.
