New details emerge about what’s Katie’s next act could be once she leaves CBS.
One way or another, you’ll be seeing Katie Couric on an afternoon talk show — just as Oprah Winfrey bids adieu to network TV.
New reports from Nellie Andreeva at Deadline and from TMZ shed new light on where Katie’s headed. Sources tell Deadline that ABC is “finalizing” its offer to Katie, and TMZ says she would make $20 million per year.
At ABC, Katie would have the chance to do her talk-show but also be involved on the news side at the network.
For much more on Katie’s departure from CBS and her plans (and all the palace intrigue therein), check out Deadline’s story here.

No one can replace OPRAH. She´s the richest philantropist, a well known host, actress, producers who is helping a lot of people. Generosity is in Oprahs blood and she made it to the top on her own. Katie Couric is a journalist/anchor who got lucky to replace the famous Bryant Gumbel. Then, she got lucky again and gained more popularity when she joined Tom Brokow and Matt Lauer. If she wants to be the next Oprah, she can start giving her money away, which is unlikely.
