Cash Hyde was born a healthy baby boy, but when he became sick in 2010 with a brain tumor, the situation seemed dire. But his father says he cured his two year old with a treatment that included feeding him marijuana!

Mike, the boy’s father, started to give Cash cannabis oil through his feeding tube once chemotherapy left him too weak to lift his head and eat solid food for 40 days, the Daily Mail reports. Although doctors said the therapy was out of the question, Mike said his son looked visibly better almost immediately once he took matters into his own hands.

“He hadn’t eaten a thing in 40 days – and, it was really incredible to watch him take a bite of a piece of cheese,” Mike said. “It shows that he wants to live.”

The best part? Mike said that by strengthening his son enough to get him through chemotherapy, the cancer is gone — thanks to marijuana. Cash now lives the normal life of an adorable little boy.

Mike said that although he was not eager to give his child marijuana, he would have done whatever it took to get Cash healthy.

“It’s very controversial, it’s very scary. But, there’s nothing more scary than losing your child,” he says.
