Unlike many other celebrities, Maxim’s No. 4 hottie Cameron has never walked down the aisle, and she’s OK with that — no divorce papers for her!
Many assume that Cameron Diaz, 38, is an unhappy person just because she’s never been married or had any kids, but in all truth, she’s the exact opposite! The actress openly admits that marriage is a dying institution and that she’s over it! Do you agree?
“I think we have to make our own rules,” Cameron, who nabbed the No. 4 spot on Maxim‘s 2011 Hot 100 List, tells Maxim. “I don’t think we should live our lives in relationships based off of old traditions that don’t suit our world any longer.”
Adding to this sentiment, Cameron tells the new edition of British Elle Magazine, “I think a lot of people are married to people they’re not romantic with any more,” she says. “I just didn’t ever marry anybody that I then had to get divorced from. We break up. We move on.”
Cameron is dating New York Yankees third baseman — and father of two to Natasha, 6, and Ella, 3 – Alex Rodriguez, 35, who she says she shares a “really awesome” relationship with. And the Bad Teacher star admits that she’s extremely happy, even though people, like her fans and the media, assume otherwise.
“People are always asking me, ‘Do you want to get married? Do you want to have children?’ My family doesn’t ask me that,” she tells Elle. “They don’t put that on me. They never have. They know that if I want to get married, I’ll do it. They don’t think I’m out there, stranded, without what I want.”
“They see me as active in my life, balancing everything that’s important to me, and if that’s part of what I want, at any point in my life – and who knows, it might be in the future – then that’ll be that.”
