Even with the all the eyes of the world following his every move, Prince William was still able to truly relish in his love for Kate during an emotional speech at their wedding reception in Buckingham Palace!

After experiencing Prince Charles‘s failed marriage, the royal family took great care to encourage Prince William to marry for love. And insiders say William’s deep affection for his new wife, Kate Middleton, was apparent during his toast at the reception following the wedding April 29.

According to the Daily Mail, William, 28, called his new 29-year-old wife “my rock” during his “emotional speech” to approximately 300 guests at the big bash at Buckingham Palace.

William knows the sacrifices Kate made to be with him for the rest of her life, and he doesn’t want anyone — especially Kate — to think he takes her for granted.

Following the party (that went until 3 a.m. Saturday morning!), the newlyweds spent their first night as a married couple in the Buckingham Palace’s Belgian suite, which is typically used for dignitary guests.

What we love most about William and Kate’s relationship is their ability to achieve intimacy with one another, despite being one of the most watch couple in the world. We want to hear more of William’s toast and can’t wait to see this lovely couple blossom into a family.
