Karen has the support from her ‘Mob Wives’ co-stars — but what about the rest of Staten Island? Should she be punished for her father’s actions?
All of her life, Mob Wives star Karen Gravano has been known as the daughter of Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano – the Gambino family underboss and killer who betrayed the mob when he turned FBI informant and ratted out John Gotti. But Karen has returned to Staten Island to face her past and clear her name — and her co-stars Drita D’avanzo and Renee Graziano totally respect her for coming back.
“I think it takes a very strong person, strong minded, not to be afraid,” Drita tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “I think that’s how she should be. She should face it, because she didn’t do anything so she should come where she is.”
“It definitely takes a lot of guts to own up to anything,” agrees Renee. “You have a lot of nerve, a lot of guts, a lot of pride to face your past. I think that’s what makes anyone very strong — if you can face your past head on.”
But while Karen may have the support of her co-stars, many residents in the neighborhood aren’t exactly throwing her a block party.
“It was definitely the biggest buzz Staten Island has had in a long time,” says Renee. “Some people are Team Karen and some people are not.”
“I feel bad that people do judge her for her father,” adds Drita. “And I will back her forever for that. She’s her own person. She came around and she’s doing whatever she’s gotta do.”
