Rob and Kristen have been together almost nonstop but now he’s in Europe without her! Is it a good idea to spend time away from your one and only? The Love Consultants take on the question exclusively for HollywoodLife.com!
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are madly in love but they are taking a short breather. They were together in St. Thomas re-shooting Breaking Dawn honeymoon scenes but Rob had to hop on a plane to Germany for the Water For Elephants premiere. He was spotted having a great time with friends at an Italian restaurant in Berlin! HollywoodLife.com asks The Love Consultants — professional matchmaker and dating coach Matt Titus and his wife, author and media personality Tamsen Fadal — if it’s good for these two young stars to have some time apart.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are a really great pair, they keep doing everything right — and that’s not easy when they are always together!
But now, Robert is in Europe, where he’s been flying solo. Is it a good thing to get time away from your soulmate and spend some time just being “you”?
My expert answer is YES!
Listen, it’s great to always want to be with your partner. But the truth is, taking time out for yourself in a healthy relationship is…well, healthy! There is a danger in always being together 24/7 — a relationship isn’t exciting when you don’t have new things to share with your partner. By spending time apart, you are able to bring new energy to the table. When you spend every moment together, you have nothing new to share with each other. Bottom line: boredom always leads to trouble.
Of course Robert and Kristen don’t have boring lives, but even spending time in the spotlight together can cause stress and strain. I think these two are working to keep their romance strong. Enjoying a night out separately with friends is an easy option to give couples a chance to break away for a few hours. You have to be able to have fun on your own, and it will only help when you’re out with that special someone. Depending on someone else for all of your happiness is not healthy.
After a certain amount of time, couples settle into a comfortable routine. And guess what? Comfortable is not sexy! You have to keep a little surprise and mystery in a relationship. If Tuesday is always meatloaf night, and Thursday is sushi, you need to shake up your relationship menu. I always say that not only does absence make the heart grow fonder, it makes it stronger and smarter as well!
Keep an eye on Rob and Kristen– they know what they are doing!
Spending quality alone time in a relationship is an important topic that people often avoid. It’s not always easy to do, but you have to do it. Why? The answer is simple — when you spend time apart, you have time to actually miss the other person!
Rob and Kristen have huge demands upon them on almost a second by second basis: be ready for your filming call time, be ready for that press interview, be ready for everything! Often they have to do these events together. Now couple that with being in a serious relationship with each other, and you have a pretty heavy load to juggle.
The good news — these two are seemingly acing it. Rob spending some time apart is expected and needed. You can’t be chained to the other person 365 days a year. Not if you want your romance to last.
I am sure Kristen is looking forward to that next moment they’ll be together. This is only something that can be achieved through spending time apart. The usual concern for successful couples is spending too much time apart due to busy schedules. It’s not usually noted that spending every second together can be just as negative for a relationship.
Every person needs some “”me-time,” not just Hollywood superstars. Having the time to evaluate your relationship and discover what you really need and want from it is a must. By knowing what you need to love and grow as a partner, you’ll be happier and healthier with YOUR own partner!
A little healthy separation goes a long way. How’s that song go again? Oh yes — “reunited and it feels so good”?
