Want A Wedding Bouquet Like Kate Middleton's? Get All The Details!

Duchess Kate's custom bouquet was absolutely stunning, just like the rest of the Royal Wedding! Shane Connolly, the florist responsible for decorating Westminster Abbey with eight maple trees, also designed Kate Middleton's gorgeous bouquet. Kate requested the wedding theme to be "unpretentious, simple and natural," which is also reflected in the her flower arrangement.

The bouquet flowers and their symbolic significance are:

Lily-of-the-valley -– Return of happiness
Sweet William –- Gallantry  (and undoubtedly chosen for their reference to Prince William)
Hyacinth –- Constancy of love
Ivy — Fidelity; marriage; wedded love; friendship; affection
Myrtle — the emblem of marriage; love. (The stems from a myrtle planted by Queen Victoria in 1845 are traditionally used in all royal wedding bouquets.)

Kate will leave the bouquet on the grave of a WWI soldier after the reception, a tradition started by the Queen Mother in 1923.

HollywoodLife.com asked florist Marilyn Waga, owner of Belle Fleur, about her opinion on the bouquet and she responded, “I knew it was going to be demure & understated and elegant and I was right on the money it was gorgeous.”
