Carla’s co-stars Renee Graziano and Drita D’avanzo both take their kids to see their dads behind bars! Do you think they’re doing the right thing?
Mob Wives star Carla Facciolo has admittedly distanced herself from her husband Joey Ferragamo, who’s currently incacerated for a boiler-room scam. And because Joey is behind bars, Carla has told her 8-year-old twins Joseph and Carmen that their daddy is away at work. But unlike Carla, her co-stars Renee Graziano and Drita D’avanzo think it’s important for their kids to have relationships with their dads — even when they’re locked up!
“As soon as his father went in and we got that first visit, me and my son were there,” Renee tells Hollybaby.com exclusively. “I would make sure we were always there. I would make sure that he got letters, commisary. We always answered every phone call. We wouldn’t miss anything when it comes to his father.”
Renee’s son AJ was just 5 when his dad went to prison. Despite his young age, “I was not hesitant at all,” Renee says. “Just because you’re in jail, doesn’t mean I’m going to hold my son back from seeing you. That’s your child.”
Unlike Renee, Drita initially didn’t take her 9-year-old daughter Aleeya to see her dad the first time he went away. “The first time, Aleeya was little,” Drita tells us. “Even if I had told her he was in jail, she wouldn’t have known what I was talking about. She was so small and clueless.”
But that changed as soon as Aleeya got older. “As soon as he got in trouble the second time, I was comptely honest with her,” says Drita. “I feel honesty is the best way. We can talk it out. I don’t want her to think, ‘Why would you have a job and leave me?'”
BFFs — do you think Carla should tell her kids that their dad is in prison — and maybe even take them to see him? Tell us what you think.
