Kirstin On 'Idol:' Is James Durbin Our Next 'American Idol?'

After the Carole King performance night April 27, I’m confident James Durbin will go all the way to the end of the competition! Who do YOU think is the front runner?

I’ve been a Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina fan from day one, but after Carole King night on American Idol April 27, James Durbin has my vote to win the whole thing.

The young rocker belted it out to “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and had me captivated from his first breath. Instead of using flashy props, James simplified his performance, beginning the piece a cappella.

After his flawless performance, the judges raved. Jennifer Lopez admitted James has been the only consistently flawless performer in the competition and Randy Jackson freaked out, predicting, “This guy might win the whole thing!”

Meanwhile, the other five contestants held their own. Honestly, no one made enough mistakes to warrant his or her good bye April 28. Everyone was strong in his or her own way.

you finally came around kirstin… i know, you won’t admit that james can compete with adam, but i’ll take this. JAMES FOR THE WIN! besides his voice and stage presence, i just like his story the best, too. i feel like his career NEEDS idol more than the rest of them. i do like all these guys though. but james has been my favorite for awhile.

JACOB ? FOR REAL ?

So much for loyalty for Scotty, I see from posts…James does have good voice, but is not as steady as recently portrayed…He misses notes all the time…and could he sing like Scotty, no, he does not have the depth of character even though he can be quite emotional…when he performs with others he has to be front and center…he can’t follow. He’s good guy in many ways…but Scotty has the staying power…Like the mentor Jimmy Livine or Lovine said…If you have Johnny Cash on stage, you don’t ask him to spread his wings…The McCreery kid knows who he is and what he does and loves best…he is being good sport and presenting not all that bad for what he’s being forced into…Carole King, please? The only decent song I saw of hers was Will u still love me tom. It’s hard to screw that one up. Still on board for charismatic kid til the end.

i like scotty, but c’mon. do you go to school with him or something? he can’t compete with james on talent, charisma, emotional depth, ability to connect to a song, etc. i think scotty has gotten better each week, and i like him and hope and expect him to have a nice career- and i even appreciated his carole king song more than most… but he ain’t no james.

In the last two weeks I have become a huge James fan..If he does not win it would be a shame. We’re looking for the best voice, and no one can come close to him..Scotty is cute, but could he sing what James sang last night? Not with his limited range and power..Go James!!!!!

James was awesome…….so the same for Scotty……loved them both….do think James will pull it out……he can do it all……should be a good final with i hope Scotty and James and Casey…….

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to all those people on this page that voted for Jacob a whole lot, it’s not happening. He is good but not Idol material.
