Tom Cruise Reportedly To Guest Star On 'Glee' As Jaded Fading Pop Star! Would YOU Watch?

Tom Cruise was so hysterical as Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder and at the MTV Movie Awards, producers want him to come on ‘Glee’ and create another funny character! We love this plan!

Tom Cruise shocked and thrilled audiences when he morphed into the balding, pudgy Jewish producer, Les Grossman, in the comedy Tropic Thunder and then recreated his hysterical character for the MTV Movie Awards. And now a source says the 48-year-old actor is ready to reach the younger crowds again — and this time it’ll be on Glee!

“At the moment they are in talks with Tom to play a failed and jaded pop star who is now teaching a Glee Club at a rival school but they are willing to let him have a lot of input in to his character just to try and get him on the show,” a source told Showbiz Spy about the producers’ efforts to get the actor on their show.

“The producers love the idea that Tom might create a character just like Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder,” the insider continued. “His dance rendition to Flo Rida’s “Low” went down so well with audiences and they know something like that would be just as popular, if not more so, on Glee.”

Luckily for Glee producers, Tom’s wife, Katie Holmes, has loved the show for years.

“They know that Katie and Suri are big fans of Glee too so they are hoping this may also sway his decision,” the insider said.

Not too long ago, it would have been considered desperate for an A-list star to make an appearance on network television during prime time. However, a recent insurgence of famous film actors on hit shows has made it not only acceptable, but encouraged.

Tom would join the ranks of Gwyneth Paltrow and Britney Spears — both of whom have lent their faces to Glee. Plus, Tom is constantly trying to stay relevant to a younger crowd…this could be perfect for him!

UPDATE: As much as we would have loved to see this happen, Tom’s reps have told us that its “not true.”
