Karen and Drita have been friends since they were 19, but when Karen broke up with Lee and went into witness protection, Drita and Lee got involved and eventually tied the knot!

Karen Gravano has come back to Staten Island to face her past, and she has do deal with the fact that her ex-boyfriend Lee D’avanzo is married to her Mob Wives co-star Drita D’avanzo. Because of this, some major drama is going to come up between the two women!

“There is tension,” a source close to the women tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “It has taken its toll, where neither of the girls thought it would.”

“But as things progressed, and with Karen being back from Arizona after all these years, she is realizing certain things,” continues the source. “It brought it back to the forefront.”

And even though Lee is not physically in the middle of things — he’s locked up in federal prison for a bank-robbery-related crime — “there is stuff you have to tune in [to VH1] to see,” says the source.

Despite questions, to this day, “Drita and Lee are still very much married,” says the friend. “She has her second thoughts every now and then, like anyone would after 12 years of marriage. But she is standing strong.”

With Lee away for another two to four years, Lee focuses on raising their two daughters — Aleeya, 9 and Gizelle, 3 — and also on staying in shape.

“Her father is a soccer coach at Fordham and was training her from a young age to play on the national team,” says the insider. “Since she was three years old she’s been doing push ups and jogging.”

Drita works out “more for stress release and for recreational proposes,” says the friend.
