‘DWTS’ pro Mark Ballas showed up at ‘American Idol’ April 20 to support his new sweetie, cast-off Pia Toscano — but did he REALLY need a bodyguard?
Mark Ballas and Pia Toscano are both keeping up their diva attitudes. Much like Pia last week at American Idol, Mark showed up to support his new girlfriend during her performance on the show April 20…with a giant bodyguard. Seriously?
As adorable as the Dancing with the Stars pro and American Idol reject seem together, we’re already getting sick of both Fox and ABC pushing them on us.
It was already too much when we heard how Mark, 24, is going to dance while Pia, 22, sings on DWTS next week, but to see him sitting front and center — looking dapper in a beautiful suit — at Idol was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Plus, seeing him protected by a bodyguard seemed even more outlandish. Not even the Glee cast members needed security!
Both Mark and Pia are genuine, sweet people, but is their newfound relationship one giant publicity stunt? It’s starting to seem a little too forced, don’t you think?
One insider assures us Mark and Pia are really dating, but it’s not as serious as the shows are making it out to be.
“Fox and ABC are seizing the opportunity to get publicity out of this relationship, for sure,” our source says. “But they do like each other. They are taking things really slowly though. They are purely just getting to know each other at this point.”

It is totally fake.
Chelsea his partner on DWTS outed him on the show then he made up this story. His publicity people came up with the concept because idol owns a silent response in every idol members contract where they can’t speak to the public for 4 months after the spit. How do I know all this. Oh yeah Pia is a close friend to me. I know her and see her regularly. Mark and her were friends and she offered to be his beard with a “no comment” to the media.
This kind of BS is what DWTS is all about!! how about that, who would of guessed?
