‘Glee’ may be built around Matthew’s role as glee club advisor Mr. Schuester, but it appears he is looking to leave the hit show!

Matthew Morrison may owe almost all of his fame to his starring role on the hit show Glee, but it appears the acting, singing and dancing phenom is looking to jump ship from the popular program! A source tells Star that Matthew is looking to become McKinley High’s first graduate, and refocus on theater and his singing career. Say it ain’t so Mr. Schu!

The source says, “Matthew is cultivating friendships with big entertainers who have had success in film, theater and other areas like Gwyneth Paltrow and Elton John.” In fact, Matthew will be skipping the Glee tour yet again this summer to focus on promoting his new solo album.

As the source simply puts: “Bottom line, Matthew is using his album as a launching pad to leave Glee.”

So HollywoodLifers, would you still watch Glee without Matthew?

He is talented but really cocky and full of himself. Way more than Lea Michele whose pretty bad too. Meryl Streep and Jalke Gyllenhall are bigger stars and far less arrogant than him. Once Glee goes away so will he.

absolutely not true. Like Matt said in an interview Glee owns him. He has a contract. I don’t think he would leave that prematurely anyway.

He shouldn’t abandon the people who have made him famous…sounds like he’s getting a little too cocky too fast. I love him though. I hope he doesn’t leave. He should at least wait and see how his tour sells first. Even then, all those sells are going to be GLEE fans.
