The Disney star has decided to focus on her music, rather than her acting career. Do you think that’s a smart choice?
Demi Lovato may be out of treatment, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be back on Disney Channel anytime soon. After much speculation, she announced April 19 that she’s officially done with her hit comedy series, Sonny With A Chance. ”It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music,” Demi, 18, tells People. “It’s kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn’t be a better time for me to move on.”
She recognizes that throwing herself back into acting would be detrimental to her recovery process, saying that “being in front of a camera” again would make her too “nervous.”
And Disney appears to be behind Demi 100 percent. The company released this statement in response to her announcement:
“We respect Demi’s decision to focus fulltime on her music and not immediately return to her acting career. … She is a talented young woman and our hearts are with her as she continues to take action to improve her health and bounce back from adversity.”
Sonny With A Chance will be re-tooled to focus on the show-within-a-show, So Random. No additional information has been released.

There are a lot of fans hoping she would come back. Even it takes a long time.. They are waiting. We are waiting. As long as the show is finish :(
The fans are like dreaming for what was gonna happen in the season 2 last episode. Hoping she’d recover fast and change her mind so she can come back. Its REALLY REALLY not the same without her. Most of us fans were after for Channy. And now its unexpectedly gone.. It even made me cry. I don’t know with the other fans but I’m sure it did make them cry too.
